The Tautahi Golds Camp today named a powerful lineup to take on the Fiji Barbarians in the opening match of the 2008 PRC Campaign. This full strength lineup includes Ikaletahi players from last years PNC and RWC as well as PRC regulars from previous years. The Tautahi Golds are looking forward to give the Fijians a taste of their destructive force tomorrow night in Lautoka.

The Tautahi Golds Head Coach Liueli Fusimalohi today named a full force lineup from an injury-free squad to play the Barbarians in tomorrow night bone-crushing affair between the two sides. “This team is a combination of new and old faces, PRC regulars as well as Ikaletahi players,” Fusimalohi said when naming his team.

The availability of experience players like RWC Ikaletahi scrum half Soane Havea and centre Kaiongo Tupou, Flyhalf Fangatapu ‘Apikotoa gives the side a bit more depth and the confident they need ahead of tomorrow’s game.

2007 PRC Golds form players No.8 ‘Aleki Taka, Prop Soane “the Hitman” Ledger and the strong running Fullback Setaleki Lu’au are all in the starting 15 set for their first taste of action this year.

“We need a high level of concentration, discipline and accuracy from the boys throughout the whole 80 minutes, otherwise you’ll be punished by the fast, strong running Fijians,” said Fusimalohi.

Last year Fangatapu Apikotoa, Soane Havea, Kaiongo Tupou, Setaleki Lu’au and Makoni Finau were drafted from the Tautahi Golds to play for the Ikaletahi in the 2007 Pacific Nations Cup. From the PNC Cup Soane Havea and Kaiongo Tupou made the RWC Ikaletahi team that went to France.

Players from the Tonga National Sevens team have joined the Tautahi camp but none made the lineup for the opening match.
